When The Coffee Club’s new Okara Park venue took shape, the roof and cladding needed to deliver on two fronts: a high-traffic hospitality building that had to look sharp, hold up to constant use, and require minimal upkeep.
Apex Roof ‘N’ Clad delivered a full commercial installation; covering roof, walls, soffit, and spouting in a unified specification of 0.55g Colorsteel Maxam 5-Rib throughout, finished in Flaxpod. The earthy, considered tone of Flaxpod was chosen to complement the building’s brick work, creating a cohesive blend of materials that gives the building genuine street presence without demanding ongoing maintenance.
The project came with a tight deadline that stretched over the Christmas period which is one of the most logistically challenging times of year to keep a build moving. Coordinating closely with the block layers to nail the iron-to-brick detailing required precise sequencing and clear communication between trades, ensuring the transitions between materials were clean and intentional rather than an afterthought. Completed in November 2025, the finished building is a low-maintenance, high-spec commercial finish that sets the right tone for one of Whangārei’s busiest hospitality spots.
