When Hillcon engaged Apex Roof ‘N’ Clad to deliver the roof and cladding on the new Fletcher Easysteel facility at Union Street, the stakes were immediately clear – this was a building that would house Fletcher Steel and Dimond Roofing, two of New Zealand’s most recognised names in steel and roofing products. The workmanship had to be flawless. 

Across approximately 4,150m², the team installed 0.55g MagnaFlow DP955 to the main building roof, fascia, cladding, and spouting – with each run of roofing sheeting installed at full length, reaching 22.5 metres, eliminating joints entirely across the roof. The result is a clean, uninterrupted profile that reflects the precision the project demanded.

Working with sheets of that length brought its own set of challenges. Handling and installing 22.5 metre runs requires careful coordination with the weather and the construction programme left little room to wait for ideal conditions. The team managed the schedule tightly, sequencing work to keep pace with a demanding programme while ensuring the finished installation met the high standard expected on a site that is, in effect, a live showcase for the very products it houses. The completed Fletcher Easysteel facility stands as one of Apex Roof ‘N’ Clad’s most high-profile commercial deliveries. This was a large-scale, joint-free installation executed under pressure and built to impress.
